Chicago flooring and remodeling services
Commercial flooring has different requirements than residential. Wear ratings, slip resistance, fire codes, ADA transitions, and after-hours installation windows all matter in ways homeowners never have to think about. We handle commercial flooring for offices, retail spaces, restaurants, rental properties, and multi-unit buildings across Southeast Michigan.
Common commercial requests include luxury vinyl plank for offices and retail (cleans easily, looks like wood without the maintenance), commercial-grade carpet for office traffic patterns, and tile for entryways and wet areas. We can also coordinate after-hours and weekend installations to minimize business disruption.
Every commercial project starts with a measurement and an honest scope conversation. We will tell you which flooring grade matches your traffic, what installation window makes sense, and how to phase the work if the space cannot be fully closed.

How it works
We handle every step under one roof — no subcontractors, no project managers, no surprises mid-project.
We come to you, measure the space, and walk through your goals, timeline, and budget. No high-pressure pitch — just an honest read of what the project takes.
We bring samples or invite you to the showroom so you can see materials in person. Once you pick, we order through our distributor network so you get dealer pricing.
We schedule installation around your calendar, confirm prep details (furniture moving, old material removal, subfloor checks), and lock in start and finish dates.
Our team handles the install start to finish. No subcontractors. Site is kept clean during the work, and we communicate every day if the project takes more than one day.
We do a final walkthrough together to make sure every transition, edge, and detail meets your expectations before we call the job done.

Frequently asked
We work both during and after business hours depending on what makes sense for the space. Many of our commercial clients prefer evening and weekend installs to avoid disrupting customers or staff. We'll coordinate the installation window at the estimate.
Yes. Property managers and landlords with multiple units get volume pricing on coordinated installs. Common requests are carpet replacement across multiple units, LVP installation in shared common areas, and tenant make-ready packages.
Luxury vinyl plank and commercial-grade carpet tile are the two most common picks. LVP looks like wood, cleans easily, and handles rolling chair traffic well with the right wear layer. Carpet tile is forgiving (replace damaged tiles individually) and absorbs sound. We can show you both at the estimate.
Yes. Food-service spaces have specific requirements (slip resistance, sanitary transitions, fire ratings) that we will plan for at the estimate. Common picks are commercial sheet vinyl, LVP with high slip-rating, and tile for kitchens.
Yes. We provide COIs for any commercial install and can name building owners or property managers as additional insured for tenant-improvement compliance.
A typical office space (a few thousand square feet) installs in 2-4 days depending on prep. Large-format jobs scale from there. We can phase the work if the space cannot be fully cleared.
Yes. H&T Carpet is fully licensed and insured for commercial flooring work in Michigan.
